UPBEAT Giants captain Ben Roarty believes head coach Jon Sharp is the ideal man to plot a successful Super League play-off course.

Huddersfield head to Widnes Vikings tomorrow (3.00) knowing victory will keep them in the top six.

Although their hosts are second bottom of the table and facing the threat of relegation, they are showing a dramatic improvement in form.

But Roarty believes that with confidence sky high in the Giants camp and Sharp having discovered a winning selection formula, Huddersfield should have too much firepower for the Vikings.

"We know Widnes will be very dangerous. We're treating them like a wounded animal, which makes them very unpredictable," said the 28-year-old Australian.

"Their performances against Wakefield and St Helens in their last two games show they'll be ready for the fight.

"But we're ready for that. We know that if we concentrate on our own game and make sure we do the little things right, we'll be okay.

"And we also know we'll be happy with the combinations Jon Sharp decides to employ.

"He's not afraid to swap players around to do certain jobs, and I'm sure tomorrow will be no different.

"But the combinations have been paying off, and that's added to the confidence among the players. We have complete faith in what he's doing.

"We all firmly believe he's the right man to make sure we become the first Huddersfield side to reach the Super League play-offs."

Those sentiments were echoed by fit-again Giants' Australian Test centre Michael De Vere, who is continuing to relish playing under Sharp's regime.

"Jon's got us playing some good footy right now," said De Vere.

"What's important after two good wins (against London and Wigan) is to try and build some momentum.

"After such a great second-half performance at Wigan, the last thing we want to do is slip back against Widnes tomorrow."
