DESPITE the Wildcats spending most of the first half on defence Wakefield trailed only 8-6 at half-time, and coach Richard Agar was always confident they could end their four-match losing run against the sorry Giants.
"The big message at half-time was to hang on to the ball," he said. "I felt we had gone alright.
"It was a really strong wind in the first half.
"We defended a lot of what Huddersfield had to throw at us and I felt we handled their kicking game.
"I thought we defended really well in the second half.

"I can’t remember our line being under threat too much.
"I was really pleased with our half-backs in the second half and all the guys we got from Huddersfield – Andy Raleigh, Danny Kirmond and Kyle Wood – had strong showings."
