The rain may have been torrential and the wet conditions far from ideal.

But that failed to dampen the enthusiasm of the Giants as they took to the Leeds Road Playing Fields for an opening skills session in the build-up to Super League XX in 2015.

It was one of the first times this year, coach Paul Anderson’s men have had the ball in their hands.

At the start of pre-season, the squad took part in a couple of testing days before they embarked on their ‘three days of hell’ during an Army Camp at Catterick.

It was then back to some conditioning work and some intense wrestling sessions before getting down to business on the skills front.

Those vital sessions will intensify ahead of the two pre-season clashes at Bradford Bulls on Sunday, January 18 and at Halifax in the Infirmary Cup seven days later.

And tough taskmaster Anderson will then look to step things up even more ahead of the Super League opener at home to Hull FC on Sunday, February 8.

“We’re now down to business and the boys know this is the start of what’s going to be a very tough couple of months for everyone,” admitted Anderson.
