PAUL WHITE will tomorrow be handed the chance to prove himself as the Giants' first-choice scrum half.

But playmaker Brandon Costin is a concern for Huddersfield head coach Jon Sharp ahead of the tough Tetley's Super League clash with fellow top-six club Hull at the KC Stadium (3.15).

Sharp, who is set to play White in the key midfield role, revealed Costin has tweaked his hamstring in training.

White, 21, missed the first half of the season after breaking a leg in the friendly victory over Castleford.

Since making his senior return at Wigan last month, White has played twice on the wing and was a substitute in last Sunday's victory over London Broncos, when Costin made a key contribution.

Tomorrow, however, he will start in the key scrum-half role, with Sharp looking forward to seeing what he can do.

"Paul has played most of his career at scrum half and will relish the chance to impress," said Sharp.

"He knows it's a great opportunity for him to make a big impression, and hopefully that will be reflected in his performance over at Hull.

"Doing a good job at a place like that won't be easy, so this is Paul's chance to rise to the challenge."

Apart from revealing White will get a half-back role, Sharp has yet to confirm his starting line-up.

But it's possible his combinations tomorrow may be influenced by the fact the Giants face another big test at home to St Helens on Wednesday (8.00).
