FIT-AGAIN Paul White has been named at hooker for tonight's Giants Senior Academy clash against Oldham at Lockwood Park (7.30).

It was the position the 21-year-old scrum half occupied when he suffered a broken leg in the pre-season game against Castleford Tigers on January 30.

That suggests head coach Jon Sharp could be grooming White to be a future Super League No9.

But for the moment, Sharp is just happy to see the lightning fast White back on the field.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing Paul tonight," said Sharp.

"He's been training exceptionally hard, and the good thing is that the injury hasn't affected his pace. He's still as quick as ever."

The Giants are expected to be far too strong for Oldham.

Less than a month ago, coach Lee St Hilaire's side beat the same opposition 44-24 in Lancashire, even though the Giants were not at their best.

And tonight's side is even stronger than the one that figured that day.

White will be joined in tonight's starting line-up by fellow Super League squad men Ben Cooper, Jon Grayshon and Matthew Whittaker.

Also included at full-back is Tom Hemingway fresh from his victorious exploits with Yorkshire Junior Academy.

Senior Academy: Hemingway; Fagborun, Cooper, Senior, George; Williams, Mennell; Grayshon, White, Armitage, Gledhill, Whittaker, Lythes. Subs: Samuel, Hutchinson, Holdsworth, Knight.
