SIDELINED captain Kevin Brown feels the Giants are improving despite making hard work of defeating an inexperienced Wigan side 30-18 at the DW last night.

Huddersfield’s influential stand-off (appendix op) was again forced to watch from the stands as Danny Brough, Greg Eden, Eorl Crabtree, Sean Lunt and Bob Fairbank ran in tries.

“There were signs of improvement from last week, that’s for sure,” said Brown.

“Obviously it was far from perfect, but there is no major cause for concern.

“There were a lot of young kids out there and we are still learning some new systems, so we remain confident it will all come right when it really matters.”

The Giants have a clean bill of health from the game as they prepare to visit Batley Bulldogs on Sunday (2.00).
