GIANTS coach Jon Sharp has given his three teenage Super League players a massive vote of confidence - despite leaving them out of tomorrow's squad to face Bradford Bulls at Odsal (3.00).
Apart from injured Australian Test centre Michael De Vere (knee), youngsters Bolu Fagborun, Thomas Hemingway and Jason Southwell are the only players not to be included.
But Sharp is keen to stress that this is no reflection on the work they have been producing in pre-season training, and that their time will come.
"These three are still learning, and learning well," said Sharp.
"I was highly impressed with the way Thomas and Jason shaped up in the pre-season game at Halifax on January 3.
"It was clear from their performances that they are coming on exceptionally well.
"Obviously, Bolu has been nursing an ankle injury and missed that match, and it's still troubling him.
"But there's no doubt their time will come.
"As I've already said, I'm delighted with the way all three are progressing and the work they have been putting in throughout pre-season training.
"They have been doing everything asked of them.
"And they also accepted the main reason for not playing tomorrow in a positive manner.
"They know I'm keen to give my senior players as much game time as possible against the Bulls, because this is our only senior hit-out before the start of the season.
"It was something all three immediately appreciated."
