THE future definitely looks bright for Huddersfield Rugby Union Club with plenty of talent rising through the junior ranks.
As well as the highly-rated Academy side, who are second in their division, the club have a promising Under 14 side who have reached the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Cup competition.
A battling 14-6 victory over Bridlington in the quarters led Huddersfield into the last four for the first time for several years, where they will now face West Park Leeds, at Lockwood Park, on Sunday, February 20.
The quarter-final was close throughout, with Huddersfield’s defence having to be on top form at times.
Fortunately they were, and when their chances came at the other end, they took them well with tries coming for winger Elliott Spiers and Adnan Nasir, both of which were converted by George Kitchen.
The Under 14s have done really well to get to the semis, having battled through four rounds of the tournament, which began back in September last year, and now they are hoping for bumper support to cheer them on to a possible final appearance, when they clash with West Park in three weeks time at their Lockwood Park headquarters (11.00 kick-off).
