YMCA aim to take a major step towards promotion from Yorkshire II tomorrow when they visit Barnsley (3.00).

The third-placed South Yorkshire side are YM’s only realistic challengers for the second promotion spot behind leaders Pocklington.

Damon Scholes’ men are eight points better off than Barnsley with two games in hand.

But the Shaw Lane side are one of the division’s form teams, and if YM slip up, it could open the door.

Scholes has injury problems to contend with.

Nicky Clarke is out with an ankle injury, joining Chris Williams (thumb) and skipper Tom Sharrock (knee) on the sidelines, while Sam Hodge is still coming back to match fitness after a back problem.

Mark Whitehead moves to inside centre, with Stuart Morton outside and Adam Ryder on the wing.

Neil Pollock plays at flanker and Darren Neilly at No8, with Neil Walker and Jack Housley the locks.
