Rishworthians RUFC Under 15 side have won the Harrogate Festival following an unbeaten run in the tournament.

The run included wins over Spalding, Driffield and Lymm as well as a draw against tournament hosts Harrogate.

This is the fourth time the side have won the tournament after previous wins in the Under 7, Under 8 and Under 13 categories.

The winning squad included Ben Rooney, Sam Nunn, Oli Marshall, Jacob Bower, Sam Bake, Will Fielden, Will McDonnell, Jack Davis, Nathan Cooper, Albert Richardson-Brown and Tom Metcalfe.

Rishworthians’ Under 9 side also had a successful day on the field as they were victorious in the Huddersfield festival.

The youngsters dominated the final round of fixtures, a round robin format between each of the group winners, as they beat Stockport A 6-2 and Morley 8-1.

The first stage of the tournament at Lockwood also saw Rishworthians overcome Yarnbury, Stockport C and Huddersfield C.

Lewis Taylor, Jake Smith, Joe Wild, Tom Amer, Lucas Procter, Lucas Fearnley, Freddie Shields, Jefferson Wilson, Jobe Wilkinson, Ray Dowland, Jack Billington, Danny Thomas, Joe Wild and Leo Iribaren were all part of the winning side.

Rishie’s under-10s were also in action as they took part in a four-way tournament with Leigh, Huddersfield and Heath.

Despite convincing victories over Heath and Huddersfield, an opening game defeat to Leigh meant they had to settle for second place.

Involved for Rishworthians throughout the competition were Matthew Wragg, Felix Jackson, Benedict Freeman, Benjamin Kershaw, Archie Horsfield, Ethan Grogan, Benjamin Kershaw and Dillon Hilton.
