YMCA RUFC’s Under 11s had James Barnett back after injury, and he skippered the side to a 20-20 draw with Yarnbury.

It was YM’s best performance of the season with relatively new forwards, Jake Lawrence, Luke Brook and Ashley Boyles revelling in the tough conditions.

Yarnbury had beaten YM 22-0 on their last meeting. However, YM this time were up to the contest and after the visitors opened the scoring, Joe Sealey levelled after a persistent run. Yarnbury scored again but the Laund Hill youngsters hit back with a brace of tries from Jack Pilcher.

Yarnbury levelled at 15-15 before the break, and took the lead once again in the second half, but Boyles showed his strength and pace to glide past Yarnbury’s tacklers to seal a 20-20 draw.

Boyles was voted man-of-the-match, but was run close by Georgie Wood.
