HUDDERSFIELD RU tackle top of the table Nuneaton tomorrow in their penultimate away game this season (3.00).

It promises to be one of the toughest games of the campaign, and coach Mark Sowerby will be urging his side to respond better than they did last week, when they lost their way in the second half of the match against Leicester Lions.

“I’m looking for a vast improvement from last week, when we simply rolled over in a very disappointing display in the second half,” said Sowerby.

“Yes, it will be a tough game, but I want to see us play as a team tomorrow, and we are certainly going to have to retain possession better than we did last week.”

Just to make it a little bit harder, Sowerby has had to call on the services of third-choice scrum half Steve Rothery, with both Joel Hinchliffe and Damian Clayton unavailable.

The other change sees George Hinchliff starting in the second row as partner to Gavin Rhodes, as lock Ben Harris is playing with Yorkshire’s Under 20s the following day and is given the chance to prepare himself for the county clash.

Huddersfield: Paxman (B); Shaw, Paxman (L), Clark; Johnson (M); Johnson (C), Rothery; Stringwell, Davies, McPhail, Hinchliffe, Rhodes, Jacobsz, Whitehead, Sharpe. Subs: Slater, Sharrock, Ramsden, Mortimore, Gough.
