THE curtain will eventually come down on Huddersfield RU’s National III North season tomorrow when they visit Kendal (3.00) for their re-arranged final game.
And Director of Rugby Mark Sowerby is keen to see his side continue in the winning vein and finish on a high against their old rivals.
“If we can win at Kendal, we’ll probably finish fifth or sixth from the bottom and it would represent a good first season in the National League,” said Sowerby.
“Over the last three or four games we’ve shown we are pretty capable when we get our heads into gear, and it would be very good tomorrow to finish on a high note and get one over on them.”
The team has more of a normal look to it this week, with the Paxman brothers and Matt Johnson returning, as does Tony Stringwell at prop and Ben Harris in the second row.
Sowerby has left the left wing open until the last minute before making his decision, while Joel Hinchliffe will almost certainly continue at No10 if, as expected, Chris Johnson again starts for Yorkshire.
