HUDDERSFIELD YMCA are staging a fund-raising auction tomorrow night to raise funds for the club's Under 17 tour to Spain at Easter.

Already a number of functions have helped put some money in the Tour fund, but they need to swell the coffers considerably more to meet the financial demands of the costly visit to Lloret de Mar, on the Costa Brava.

Tomorrow's auction is the latest event, and promises to be a 'fun' evening with plenty of goodies up for auction, as well as featuring a 'maggot race!'

One of the top items in the bidding is a 2004 Tri-Nations final rugby ball, signed by Australian Rugby League superstar Darren Lockyer, while there are pairs of tickets for both Huddersfield Giants and Huddersfield Town, hold-alls, bottles of spirits and wines, a Moet champagne and bucket, and a host of other goodies.

The Laund Hill event starts at 7pm and admission is free.

The Under 17s are also holding a curry night on Tuesday, February 20, when Meltham's Cinammon Lodge has been booked for the event, tickets for which are available at the YMCA bar.
