ILKLEY gained their revenge on Huddersfield Under 16s after being defeated at Lockwood Park earlier in the season.

On this occasion it was the visitors who did all the scoring with two converted tries, while keeping Huddersfield scoreless.

In the opening 15 minutes play was confined to 20 metres either side of the halfway line, but then Ilkley broke clear from a ruck and went through a gap to score their first try.

Good forwards drives from Jack Hartop and Conor Gundry got Huddersfield moving forward, while fly-half Adnan Nasir, centres Elliot Whetham, Elliott Spiers and winger Tom Wrigley combined well but were unable to prize open the Ilkley defence.

A penalty against Huddersfield allowed Ilkley to move into the 22, from where they found another gap in the defence and crossed for an almost identical try to the first.

Huddersfield used all the substitutes in an attempt to get something out of the game, but they were thwarted by a dogged and determined defence.
