HUDDERSFIELD YMCA travel to powerful Pontefract tomorrow (2.15) aiming to inflict only the second defeat of the season on the Yorkshire I table-toppers.

Following last week's excellent third round EDF Senior Vase victory over Pocklington, YM will have to make a couple of changes.

Those include on the wing where new signing Rob Brown is unavailable and is set to be replaced by utility back Dave Holmes.

Australian second rower Luke Hannan should also return to boost the line-outs, where the YM were well beaten in their cup-tie seven days ago.

Canny coach Carl Thewlis will be looking for his side to keep the momentum going, and he is definitely not going to Carleton with damage limitation in mind.

"We know we have the back line to cause them problems," he said.

"So, if we can take them on up front and then give our threequarters room to work, we feel we can compete with them.

"We're well aware that Pontefract have strengthened considerably this season.

"But we are not going there just to contain them.

"Getting the two points is the most important thing."

Pontefract lost for the first time in the league last week when they went down 15-10 at Bridlington.

Leading YM points-scorer Holmes, right, missed the Pocklington game to rest a slight hamstring strain, while Hannan, too, was rested.
