THE YMCA coaching team are taking their first team squad to the Sports Barn on Leeds Road for an Indoor training session tomorrow, should their Yorkshire I League match at York fall victim to weather.

And that seems extremely likely at the moment, with the big freeze plus further heavy snowfalls forecast today and over the weekend.

Director of rugby at Laund Hill, Damon Scholes has requested an early call from York.

But that largely depends on where the referee is coming from, and whether or not he can get to the York ground to make an early call.

YM will not make a team selection until a decision has been made.

Training has obviously been disrupted this week, with freezing conditions at Salendine Nook preventing a run-out on Wednesday.

“It’s a pity about the conditions because we need to work on a few things after last week’s disappointing defeat to Pontefract,” said coach Jody Shaw.

“For some reason we were flat and lethargic against Pontefract.

“AIthough we were level at 10-10 at half-time I wasn’t too concerned as I expected us to kick-on in the second half, but we didn’t, and that was a massive source of frustration.

“At the end of the game Pontefract deserved to win, they were the better side out there. Simple as that!”
