YMCA chief Jamie Marsden has more than a couple of headaches to fret over with a series of injuries as well as poor form hitting the team ahead of tomorrow’s visit of Yarnbury (3.00).
Full-back Gavin Stead, winger Chris Beever and stand-off James Swift are definitely missing the visit of the Leeds-based side, while there are also big question marks over prop Stephen Dyke and second rower Simon Whitehead.
“We’ve been fortunate up to now with injuries, but as well as playing garbage last week, we also picked up a crop of injuries which have hit us hard,” admitted Marsden.
“Gavin (Stead) is definitely out, while we are waiting until the last minute to see whether Steve and Simon recover in time.”
Josh Marshall is called up to scrum half, with Simon Wilson dropping down to full-back, while Dave Wood comes in at centre with the coach moving to stand-off and Daniel Moorhouse onto the wing.
Dyke and Whitehead are both named in the starting line-up, but Martyn Dalton (prop) and Josh Lumb are both included in the squad as cover.
YMCA: squad; Wilson; Ryder, Morton, Wood, Moorhouse, Marsden, Marshall; Dyke (Ste), Whittaker, Dykes (Stu), Hellawell, Whitehead, Leonne-Mazza, Walker, Torrance, Nyahoda, Lumb, Dalton.
