It's been a fascinating start to the football season.

In the Premier League, Chelsea have gone from 13/8 for the title to 3/1 after two games.

At the same time, Manchester City have gone from 3/1 to lift the trophy to 13/8.

That is absolute madness – but that is the fickle nature of sport at the top level.

You are only as good as your last performance.

What is equally interesting – and this should be very encouraging for Town fans – is that in the Skybet Championship there already seems to be very little between so many of the teams.

In the first round of fixtures, there were five draws and only one team – Hull against Town – were odds-on to be victorious.

In the second round, there were six draws and then, this week in the Tuesday and Wednesday fixtures, there have been seven draws in the 1 matches.

I suppose, if you are having a bet, the message is ‘start backing the draw!’

That’s certainly the case in the Championship at the moment because you will be getting 9/4 or 5/2 for the price.

The draw is still the biggest price of all three options (win, lose or draw) but in the Championship right now it seems to be the most likely outcome.

Town have been responsible for two of those draws and, if you fancy the ‘correct score’ market, I suppose 1-1 for Town matches at the John Smith’s Stadium isn’t a bad place to put your money.

Personally, it was great to see James Vaughan get on for the last 15 minutes or so of the match against Brighton.

The combination of Nahki Wells and Vaughan, when fully fit, is one that can terrorise defences at Championship level and I just hope we can see much more of them together out on the pitch.

For racing fans, it’s the Ebor Festival at York this week and Day One featured a shock defeat for Golden Horn.

It’s always disappointing to see a great horse beaten, but even the best are vulnerable when they don’t have perfect conditions – just look at the Australian cricket team!
