YORKSHIRE artist David Sim, who was taught and influenced by the late Peter Brook, is staging an exhibition of 30 works at the AC Gallery in Huddersfield’s Byram Arcade.

David, who has a studio in the Calderdale village of Midgeley, has shown his paintings in the USA as well as throughout the UK.

His current exhibition is mostly of landscapes.

Mike Baggs, owner of AC Gallery, describes Sim’s work as “stunning.”

“I'd heard of David's work before and through my relationship with Peter Brook our path's eventually crossed and I went to see David's studio

“ I was taken aback by the wide diversity of his work, and his prolific output.

“He is not afraid to use a bold approach, yet is also comfortable working within more traditional boundaries.

“Choosing pieces to exhibit was very hard as there was such a wide choice of work but we eventually narrowed things down and have what I feel is a wonderful cross section of paintings.

“We are really excited to be showcasing his work, yet another local gem!"

The exhibition is on until tomorrow.
