ARTIST Lizzie Van Dottie has a new show in Marsden.
Though based in Ashton-under Lyne, Lizzie is delighted to be showing her work in Month of Sundaes, the coffee shop and ice cream parlour which is gaining quite a reputation for providing a gallery space for artists.
Lizzie says she paints in her kitchen which can restrict the size of canvas that she can work on.
She likes to use a diverse variety of mediums in her work from acrylics and pastel to oils.
Her subject matter is equally varied and the creativity that she once used in the world of fashion she now focuses on art.
Lizzie won a Thameside In Bloom contest with a container garden a couple of years ago and that inspired her to paint flower related subjects though in an abstract form.
She’s also done life studies, been inspired by trips to Morocco and works in a bold, dramatic style.
Lizzie, whose niece is the former Hear'Say and Dancing on Ice star singer Suzanne Shaw, says her new exhibition will run in Marsden until the end of the month.
Month of Sundaes opens Mondays to Saturdays from 8.30am to 6pm and on Sundays from 12 until 5pm.
