AN award-winning folk singer is tuning up for a cricket club show.

But the Irish-born singer Sabrina Piggott will find herself singing in a unique setting thanks to Cumberworth United Cricket Club.

Tomorrow’s concert will take place at the base of the ‘Cumberworth Steps’ – a featured marker on the Kirklees Way, with the grassed steps acting as an amphitheatre for this superb artist.

The musician, who played at Glastonbury last year, is a native of Conh in Southern Ireland is now a resident of the Yorkshire Dales.

Tomorrow’s show is at 7.30pm at the club’s Cumberworth Lane ground in Lower Cumberworth at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £10 including supper for adults, with accompanied under 16 entering for free.

A hog roast, BBQ and bar will be available, and following the award winning folk performance DJ Dave will complete the night with party classics.

Parking will be available in the cricket ground and they’re advising people to bring a deck chair or a cushion for the show on the steps.
