OAKWELL Hall's popular annual exhibition, Art in the Barn, opens next weekend.
Over 50 artists will be exhibiting and pictures will be on sale.
There will be weekend demonstrations by some of the exhibitors: Saturday, January 29 - Alec Jackson; Sunday, January 30 - Alan Goodall; Saturday, February 5 - David Hargreaves; Sunday, February 6 - Sybil and Tony Burton. All demonstrations are 1pm-4pm.
The exhibition runs until February 12 and throughout that period there will be a silent auction to raise funds for Combat Stress, the charity chosen this year by the Mayor of Kirklees, Clr Andrew Palfreyman.
Two pictures are being auctioned and they will go to the highest bidders at the end of the Art in the Barn exhibition.
Combat Stress, the charity which helps men and women suffering from psychological conditions related to their armed service, has donated a painting which was done by a veteran as part of rehabilitation.
John Bickerdike, who regularly exhibits with Wakefield Camera Club, has donated a photograph of Oakwell Hall for the auction.
Also to raise charity funds, cards in aid of Kirkwood Hospice will be on sale.
The exhibition opens on January 29 and will open in the Visitor Centre Barn, next to the car park at the top of Nutter Lane, Birstall, from noon until 4.30pm each day. Admission is free.
