THERE’S quite an array of performers lined up when selections from Handel’s Messiah are sung at St George’s Church in Brockholes.

The church choir is augmented by friends at the concert on Sunday, December 30 (7pm).

It’s the fourth performance of Messiah in eight years to be arranged at the church by villager Noel Clark, who will be conducting the orchestra.

Soloists are Sarah Ogden, Barbara Brook, Harold Earnshaw and Thom Meredith, while the orchestra is led by Donald Clark. Verena Wood is the organist and Julian Wightman is solo trumpet.

Admission is free thanks to sponsorship from the Yorkshire Schools’ Exploring Society, Conroy Brook, Birks undertakers, Ramsey Clay, the Rock Inn and Acorn Printers.
