It’s not just famous names who exhibit at The Artworks 1830 Gallery in Calderdale – the gallery is currently hosting a show by four students and emerging resident artists.
Until August 24, the work of Kim Bond, Lauren Iredale, Harriet Lawton and Louis Benoit can be seen in the spacious gallery sandwiched between The Artworks independent art school and artists’ studios in Shaw Lodge Mills.
Their exhibition, Four Way Street, follows successful shows by cartoonist Ralph Steadman and internationally-renowned digital artist Phil Shaw.
Alongside the exhibition the artists are running a number of talks, summer workshops and events: July 31, 6pm, artist talk; August 10, 11am Kintsugi handstitch workshop with Harriet; August 13, 1.30pm, youth workshop with Lauren; August 19 and 20, 6pm, trompe l’oeil plates workshop with Harriet; August 22, 10am, children’s art and craft workshop with Lauren and Harriet; August 23, 8pm, closing party with band.
