It's big band time at the LBT next Friday.

Huddersfield University will be putting on its annual concert at 7.30pm, this year featuring award-winning vocalist Matthew Ford.

Matthew is widely recognised as the finest big band singer in the UK and has previously been voted Best UK Big Band Vocalist.

He broadcasts regularly with the BBC Big Band and the John Wilson Orchestra and has also performed for five years with the multi award winning Syd Lawrence Orchestra.

He has also appeared twice on Friday Night Is Music Night with John Barrowman and Lee Mead.

The university’s Big Band showcases the talented students with music by Count Basie, Dizzy Gillespie, Pat Metheny and Gordon Goodwin.

Delighting audiences every year at the Marsden Jazz Festival, they regularly perform concerts at the university.
