The music of Huddersfield-based guitarist, fiddle player and singer Kit Holmes, has been likened to ‘Macy Gray meets Nick Drake’.

And now, the town’s concert goers will have a chance to enjoy her sultry vocals and virtuoso guitar playing when she appears live with the Kit Holmes Trio at the Lawrence Batley Theatre next week. It will be her only stop-off in West Yorkshire during her current 24-venue tour.

Kit’s unique blend of energetic blues and folk has won critical acclaim. She has been featured by Bob Harris and Andy Kershaw on their BBC music shows and headlined at the International Guitar Festival of Great Britain.

A guitar heroine of stature, she is currently celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut album – no mean feat in the highly-competitive music industry.

As well as old favourites she will playing songs from her fourth album, to be released in September.
