It might be the last week in October, but for The Pierrot Players of Shelley and Shepley it’s the Third Week In August.

The local am’ dram’ group is presenting the Peter Gordon comedy, which is set in a run-down caravan site populated with eccentric characters, from Wednesday, October 29, until Saturday, November 1.

It is the second Gordon play for The Players, who performed Out Of Focus in 2000.

The current production is being directed by Joan Gough and has a cast of just six actors.

Tickets for the show at Shelley Village Hall are £5 and available from The Flying Ferret or McColl’s in Shelley and Shepley Newsagents.

The society is on the lookout for new members to both take on roles and act backstage.

According to Chris Schofield, acting publicity officer: “We are a small and friendly society and have social events as well as staging plays. But we would like some new, younger members to join us.”
