YOUNG people from the campaign group Youth Fight for Jobs are staging a live music fundraising event tonight.

They want to help fund a demonstration in London against rising unemployment amongst young people. Unemployment is set to hit one million in the under 24 age group, and Youth Fight For Jobs say the government are not doing enough to help young people struggling to find work.

The demonstration, which will march through London on November 28 to the Houses of Parliament, is seen as vital to make sure that the voice of young people is heard. The band night is hoping to raise enough money to hire a coach to take young people from the Kirklees area to London for the day.

The band night takes place tonight at St Patricks Catholic Club, Huddersfield, at 8pm, and costs £2 to get in.
