SKELMANTHORPE Band is flushed with success at the moment.

Both senior and B bands had a very successful weekend at the Yorkshire Regional finals recently, when they qualified for the National Finals in September.

Fundraising is now under way as the cost of attending the finals will be substantial.

A spring concert at Pilling Lane Chapel in Skelmanthorpe on Saturday, April 26, is one of the events to help the cause.

The band has guest soprano Rachel Crisp, 16, one of the best up and coming soprano singers in the country.

She attends Chethams School of Music in Manchester, where she is studying voice and piano. It is a repeat visit for her after thrilling the audience with her performance at the band’s Christmas concert last December.

Tickets at £6 are available from band members and Thinking of You, Commercial Road, Skelmanthorpe.
