A BAND hit the high notes when it helped to launch a summer exhibition at the Harrison Lord Gallery on Huddersfield Road, Brighouse.

Sunshine may have been in short supply this week, but the Yorkshire Co-op Brass Band joined forces with the gallery to bring a seaside atmosphere to the town.

The theme of the exhibition is the British summer and work by artists including Jenny Parkin, Geoffrey T Wood, Paul Talbot-Greaves, Neville Fleetwood, Sally Darlington, Linda Wormald and Glenis Fergus is on show, as well as jewellery, ceramics and glassware.
