LEEDS Cathedral’s organist Ben Saunders will play the lunchtime organ recital at Huddersfield Town Hall on Monday October 20.

Under his direction, the Cathedral choirs have recorded CDs, given many live broadcasts on BBC radio and television, and premiered several new works written especially for Leeds Cathedral, including pieces by Colin Mawby and Giles Swayne.

Ben has also travelled extensively, as an organist, and as a choral conductor to France, Germany, Holland, Italy and the United States.

At Monday’s recital he will play music by J N Lemmens, F Schmidt and A P F Boely as well as playing a ragtime waltz by Scott Joplin, a symphonic foxtrot by Carl Robrecht plus a comedy overture by the Hungarian composer Keler-Bela.

The concert begins at 1pm, tickets are £4 (£3 concessions) from Kirklees Booking Offices on 01484 223200 or on the door.

Lunch is available in the Old Court Room from noon.
