SILLY SONGS, beautiful ballads, bags of comedy and lots of terrific dancing. Expect all of that and more in Honley next month in a fund-raising concert at Southgate Theatre.

Bass baritone Norman Mellor has brought together some of the area’s best music, comedy and dance talent for a show which will raise funds for Honley Male Voice Choir of which Norman is chairman. And he also manages to find time to learn solo pieces to sing with the choir too.

Norman has made many friends through music and some of them will be helping him in this choir fund-raiser on March 14

Male voice choir colleagues David Ellis and David Jagger will be the ones singing silly songs while Philip Hardcastle, Danny Bullett, Raymond Steel and David Lord will show that four tenors can be even better value than three.

Bass Stan Solomons will feature as will Norman. Music theatre will be represented by soprano Diane Robinson and tenor Richard Cook whose duets are popular on the concert circuit.

There will be comedy sketches from another experienced stage performer Derek Sharples and from popular comedy duo Gina Cook and Marina Haigh with more of their hilarious routines.

Bernadette Hey’s dancers will be on stage and the accompanists will be George Marsden, Sue Ogden, Margaret Dutton and Geoff Bottomley.

The concert begins at 7pm. Tickets from Joe Ramsden on 01484 326352 or from Norman on 01484 851060.
