HALIFAX Film Society will present a piece of Chinese cinema on Sunday.

Riding Alone For Thousands of Miles, a film by Yimou Zhang, will be screened at the Playhouse at King Cross Street in Halifax.

The film tells the story of Takada, who has been estranged for many years from his son and is informed by his daughter-in-law that her husband has terminal cancer.

Takada decides to complete a documentary his son was making.

The movie has been described by one critic as “a little miracle of a film.”

You can check it out for yourself from 7.45pm.
