THERE can be few local venues that have not hosted the musical talents of Honley Male Voice Choir, but the singers are notching up a first next weekend.
They will make their debut at Brighouse Parish Church, singing for the first time in the recently refurbished building at 7.30pm on Saturday, May 10.
Proceeds from the concert will be split between the choir and the church.
The choir will be conducted by Alan Jenkins and the concert will spotlight seven of its soloists.
They are tenors Philip Hardcastle, Bill Hopwood and David Lord, baritone Brian Winterbottom and bass singers Donald Kennedy, Norman Mellor and Stan Solomons.
Deputy accompanist George Marsden, who will be accompanying the choir, is looking forward to playing on the church's superb organ.
Tickets are £7.50 from choir secretary Joe Ramsden on 01484 326352 or from the church treasurer, Alan Sparks, on 722785.
