YOU’D be surprised what can be achieved in a day.

Join musical director and teacher Jim Morgan to conquer the ever-popular Victorian masterpiece John Stainer’s Crucifixion – and do it in less than a day.

It is a big ask to put together a group of people who don’t normal sing together and ask them to learn and then perform such a big piece.

But with Jim Morgan in charge, it won’t be a problem.

Jim is staging another of his popular ‘singalong’ occasions for local choral enthusiasts.

A couple of years ago, singers got together to rehearse Faure’s Requiem which they then performed to a large audience in Huddersfield Parish Church.

This time the event will take place at New Mill Parish Church on Saturday, March 13.

Singers will rehearse during the day with a public performance at 7.30pm the same evening.

The singers will be accompanied by the Holme Valley Orchestra (HVO), bolstered by The Mastersingers and the Choir of Christ Church, who, along with the church’s Worship Band, will also provide items in the programme.

If you’d like to get involved, email singstainer@btinternet.com or contact members of The Mastersingers or HVO.
