IT’S back – the Def Jam Comedy night is set to return to the Lawrence Batley Theatre on July 25.

Record label Def Jam and the Canadian Comedy Circuit jointly promote the international touring event.

This time, joint headliners will be Will E Robo and Nema Williams, from the USA.

Will E Robo is an energetic, charismatic, versatile and animated comedian, who is a star of Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam show.

He has made numerous appearances on The Apollo.

He also appeared on both BET’s Comic View and P Diddy’s Bad Boys of Comedy.

Nema Williams is New York’s star of BET Comic View, Cedric the Entertainer’s Comic Grove on Comedy Central and Bad Boys of Comedy for HBO network.

He recently was on The White Boys in the Hood Special and tour. His effortless ability to adapt to any audience has secured his spot a favourite on the USA circuit.

Also performing will be Tony Hendricks, aka Paleface, who is a household name in Jamaica.

He has taken the main prize at the Caribbean Comedy Festival in Trinidad and voted Best Comedian there for two years.

Kojo is a favourite on MTV and received Best Male Comedian at the Black Entertainment Awards for the third year running, after his stand-up show The Fresh Prince of Hackney.

Finally, Kevin J has been tipped as a rising star for 2009.
