WOLCOM YOLE offers a joyful welcome to the Yule season and to a new year.

And what better company in which to enjoy a taste of all of that than with the performers at a concert at St Paul’s Hall in Huddersfield on December 1 (7.30pm).

The concert brings together three groups of musicians and singers with a long history of musical friendship and collaboration.

The Holme Valley Singers, The Mastersingers and the Holme Valley Orchestra will all take part in the concert. Their guests will be The Millennium Chapel Gospel Choir, a group of adult singers from Bolton conducted by Master-singers’ member Rob Wilding

The main item is a performance of Alan Woods’ beautiful cantata This Joyous Night which brings together all the ensembles, with soloists Joanne Smith and David Townend, who are both members of the Mastersingers.

Jim Morgan is stepping down as conductor of the Holme Valley Singers after being with them for 25 years.

His deputy, and the Singers’ accompanist, Jane Robertson, is also moving on. But both will be in place for this pre-Christmas concert with a choir that they have achieved much with.

Tickets are £8 (full) and £4 (concessions), with under 12s getting in free. Tickets are available from 01484 472426 (daytime).
