FOLLOWING the success of last year’s concert, the Sellers International Youth Band will again be playing at St Paul’s Hall in Huddersfield on Sunday, April 20.

Special guest is Kirsty Abbotts – who some regard as just about the best cornet player in the band world today.

She was principal cornet with the Sellers’ senior band for many years before moving on to Carlton Main. Last year she released first solo album Soliloquy.

Kirsty will be playing solos accompanied by the youth band.

The concert will begin with the programme the youth band presented at the National Youth Entertainment Championships recently held in Blackpool where they gained a tremendous third place.

The charity to benefit from the evening is West Yorkshire’s Forget-Me-Not Trust and Kirklees Mayor Clr Jean Calvert, who is supporting the good cause, will be one of the guests.

An evening of entertainment and musical pleasure is promised from a band which has made fantastic progress under Mark Bousie.

The night starts at 7pm. Tickets are £11 centre block (reserved), £6 wings/floor (unreserved).

Tickets are on sale at the Tourist Information Centre in Albion Street and from Anne Kilburn at Sellers International, tel 01484 540006. Unreserved seats can be purchased on the night at the door.
