JOIN artist Sue Russell at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and help to create a new rug by dancing.

Sound different? Well it is.

The special rug will be created by spreading layers of wool fibres across a sheet of fabric to create a dance floor.

The fibres will then be sprinkled with soap- flakes and the dance floor soaked, activating the soap-flakes to start the felting process.

It is hoped that the live music being played will get visitors to the park dancing.

So if you are thinking of heading to West Bretton on Sunday or Monday be prepared to roll up your sleeves and dance on the fibres, fusing them together into a giant felt carpet.

It is certainly a dance floor with a difference and alongside the dance floor rug-making, there will be a free spinning, weaving, knitting, felting and dance workshop.

Visitors will be able to try their hand at felting, spinning, giant-knitting and weaving, and will be encouraged to take home felted, knitted, spun or woven creations.

This wool-n-dance workshops at the education site will run from 10am to 4pm.
