IT SOUNDS like an event guaranteed to make youngsters go wow.

Poet, singer and songwriter Dave Webb is the man to make words fun; words that are spoken, sung or read.

They are all part of a workshop which will be held in Huddersfield Junior Library during next week’s half-term.

The workshop, which runs from 2pm to 4pm on Wednesday, is a joint venture between the library service and the Mrs Sunderland Music Festival organisers.

The organisers of the festival – one of Huddersfield’s town’s biggest and most loved music events – are great fans of poetry and now aim to share their passion with a whole new generation.

The Mrs Sunderland is certainly the place to hear words sung and spoken and next week gives young people a chance to try at least one way of sharing words, through poetry and other readings.

Dave Webb will be at the library to ensure that all aspiring young poets and performers have fun.

The workshop is free but you need to book a ticket. You can do that by calling at the library or phoning on 01484 221956.

The session is suitable for children, teenagers and families.

Next year’s Mrs Sunderland Music Festival runs from February 20-28. The deadline for entries is Saturday, November 22.
