THE creative team at St John’s Church, Golcar is back in action with a fun-packed favourite of a show.

Seven years ago Margaret Laycock and Susan Starr teamed up to put together Trust Us We’re Angels.

That first outing was a heavenly hit and the show is back at the church next week with performances running from Thursday to Saturday.

Church members at St John’s have long used music in many different ways not least in this retelling of some of the oldest stories in the Bible.

So what would happen if the angels went on strike? What would the world be like if they began campaigning for their rights – to have Sunday off, to have coffee breaks, to be as annoying as possible?

It remains a cracker of an idea and looks set to pull in packed houses for four shows starting on Thursday. There are evening shows at 7.15pm with a matinee on Saturday at 2.15pm.

This is very much a community production with all ages involved.

There a lot of laughter and plenty of music in a show which covers all the big dramas, from Moses and Noah to stories about Goliath and Joseph.

Margaret wrote the music and Susan put the words together. See what happens in their retelling of the creation of the universe at St John’s from March 25.

Tickets are £5 for adults and £4 for children.
