IT IS A game every cricket fan has played; if you could chose a fantasy team who would be in it?

In this book batsman turned commentator Geoff Boycott selects his greatest teams from each of the 10 Test-playing nations. Like him or loathe him he knows the game’s history, its players and techniques inside out.

Boycott, known for his forthright opinions as a broadcaster, employs the same straight-talking quality in his writing.

He brings colour to players from a bygone age and also tells how it was to play with and against the latter-day greats.

But we will never see Grace and Botham together nor will we see Bradman face Holding. The book is occasionally stat-heavy, but this will not deter any cricket nut. It’s ideal reading for those cricket-less winter nights.
