Pubs where children can play safely outside are few and far between.

There's an indoor Wacky Warehouse for kids of all ages, as well as an outdoor play area at this Hungry Horse chain pub.

Judging by reviews by parents on Facebook, the play areas are worth checking out.

Fenay Bridge Fayre and Square Pub

This pub advertises itself as a family pub restaurant. It also boasts an outdoor play area with equipment including a slide and, for when it rains, an inside play area too.

There's no shortage of outdoor space for the kids to run free while mums and dad can sit nearby and keep an eye on them.

Equipment includes a slide and some climbing equipment.

Kids will love the big green space, which also includes some play equipment.

One Huddersfield dad, Scott Bradbury, whose daughter is two, said: "There's a decent beer garden at Sands with climbing frames. It's a good space for children to run around safely."

This family-friendly pub has a beer garden and outdoor play area. Reader Chris Barrow says: "It even offers a great view of iconic Emley tower while taking in the summer sun. The pub has the occasional kids' disco on a Saturday afternoon and a family-friendly no swearing policy throughout the premises."

The outdoor play area has a small climbing frame for little ones and a larger piece of climbing equipment for older children.

There's a slide and climbing frames in a large grassed area with wooden tables for mums and dads to sit and watch their kids at play. The pub is set in a beautiful location near to Ogden Water, a popular spot for families and walkers.
