If you're looking for some Halloween hi jinx there's plenty going on across Kirklees this October half-term.

From themed craft events bound to excite your little witches, to special spooky markets and a Halloween train, the holidays have lots of Halloween fun in store.

Here's what's on this October half-term:

Miniature Railway at Halloween

Put on your costumes and head to Greenhead Park on Halloween to join Mr Spook on his magical ghost train around Greenhead Park! The track will be specially decorated with lights, spooks and blown up figures.

The train will run (weather permitting) 5pm-7pm. £1.30 for single riders, £3.50 for family tickets, no booking required.

Spooktacular at Huddersfield Markets

Head to Huddersfield Open Market on Thursday October 29, 11am-3pm, for free spooky crafts, face painting, balloons and a trick or treat trail! Also at Queensgate Market on Friday October 30, 10am-2pm.

Room on the Broom family storywalks

A family walk based on Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson, with broom making, potion concocting, picture trails and more (activities vary according to event). Bring your little witches and warlock for some magical mischief — iggety, ziggety, zaggety, ZOOM!

Dewsbury Market Spooktacular

Visit Dewsbury Market on Halloween, Saturday October 31, 10am-3pm, for a free trick or treat trail, spooky characters and face painting.

'Out of this World' drawing workshops

Youngsters can attend free workshops across north Kirklees to create an artwork to enter into the Sci Fest Yorkshire drawing competition. Suitable for children aged five and above, booking essential.
