Show committee chairwoman Karen Bullivant said: "I have now been chair for seven years and again I am proud that the team have pulled together another entertaining, family show, with more competitions, attractions, stalls and exhibits than ever before – not just in the main ring, but all over the showground and in the marquees.

"This year we celebrate the 20th Mirfield Agricultural Show since it was resurrected back in 1995 by a small group of Mirfield movers and shakers. They set out to create the event you see today and their ethos, which is very much still with the current committee, was to provide a fun, affordable and educational family day out - and we are especially proud to say that it still remains free for all children."
