Emley Show is back for another year of family entertainment, amazing animals and a whole host of competitive classes.

The agricultural show, one of the most popular in Yorkshire, is held at the showground at Factory Lane, in the shadow of Emley Moor Mast.

Last year more than 10,000 visitors went to watch stunt shows, horse jumping, champion cows, birds of prey and more.

It's sure to be another fun family day out this year — so here's the date for your diary.

Emley Show 2016 will be held on Saturday August 6.

This year's main ring entertainment includes a sheepdog display, a stunt show, shire horses and children's races.

Show secretary Sue Britton said: “It’s going to be a brilliant day as it always is. We have more emphasis on agriculture this year.”

She added: “It’s a good family day out with something for everybody and children under 16 get in for free as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
