TWO world-class musicians will bring the warmth of Latin America to a wintry St Paul’s Hall in Huddersfield on Thursday, November 29.

American flautist Jessica Quinones, who was raised in New Mexico, and Brazilian guitarist Hans Hess will present a lively programme of tango, samba, maxixe and choro, originating from Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil.

Jessica, who is currently undertaking a PhD in flute performance at the University of Huddersfield, is widely acclaimed for her beautiful tone, detailed musicianship and innovative teaching techniques.

Hans is a composer and samba specialist from Rio Grande do Sul in Southern Brazil and has a degree in classical guitar performance. He is completing a PhD in Samba in Brazilian films at the University of Bristol.

Following their concert, which will feature works by Celso Machado, Piazzolla, Barrios and Bellinati, the two musicians will host a masterclass for university music students.
