When their newborn son disappears and their crops fail, the family turns on each other.

The livestock and children start behaving disturbingly. They even accuse their daughter Thomasin of being a witch after talking to the family goat! Amid all this, they’re easy prey for true evil.

A witch (Bathsheba Garnett), who lives in the nearby forest, steals the baby during a game of peekaboo with Thomasin and uses the child's freshly spilt blood to restore her youthful lustre.
