Huddersfield, have you got the X Factor?

Now you can prove it — open auditions for the hit ITV talent show will be held at Bradford's Kirkgate Shopping Centre on Monday March 30.

A mobile audition van will be at the shopping centre to give budding popstars the chance to audition for the show — and those who impress the team will be given a chance to audition in front of the X Factor judges in the summer.

This year the show will enter its 12th series after being started by pop mogul Simon Cowell in 2004.

Huddersfield has been represented on the show in recent years thanks to some singing superstars — including Carolynne Poole, who reached the live shows of the 2012 series under Gary Barlow's mentorship.

The singer was voted off in the live shows in scenes which promoted a fierce row between judges Barlow and Louis Walsh.

But since then she has continued performing around the country and has been in demand.

X Factor boyband The Risk, from the 2011 series, included Huddersfield lad Ashford Campbell, who got through to week five of the live shows before being voted off. The group stayed together but split last year to pursue solo careers.

The auditions on March 30 will be on a first come, first serve basis.
